About Us

Made and used in our family greenhouse

We’re Three B Gardens, a small family business in Cape Coral, Florida, and we’re obsessed with rare and unusual tropical plants. We grow and care for them every day in our greenhouse, and this site is where we share the pots, soil blends and propagation supplies we make and use to do it. Our pots are designed, printed and tested right here, and our Semi-Hydro Trop Mix is the same media we trust throughout our nursery every day.

Self-watering pots and kits

  • 6" and 8" self-watering pots: fully 3D-printed in PETG as a two-part pot (outer pot plus inner pod). A wick feeds the plant from a reservoir you can see, so it’s easy to tell when to top up.
  • 3" and 4" self-watering kits: a polypropylene reservoir with a slotted inner growing basket, filled with Semi-Hydro Trop Mix and set inside a decorative cover we 3D-print in-house from PETG. Each cover is one of a kind, and the photos show the exact one you get.

Our kits are a just-add-water home for new plugs, or an easy way to convert a favorite plant to semi-hydro.

Trop Mix, our house blends

  • Aroid Trop Mix: our in-house aroid and houseplant mix.
  • Semi-Hydro Trop Mix: a mineral-based blend of porous mineral aggregates, a carbon-rich amendment and mineral bio-media, inoculated with beneficial microbes. Hand mixed in small batches in Southwest Florida.
  • Propagation Trop Mix: plant-based fiber, a light mineral aggregate and mineral bio-media, balanced for moisture and airflow. It’s the rooting media we use ourselves for corms, tissue culture and cuttings.

Propagation supplies and accessories

Our High-Rise Corm Condo is two clear acrylic cubes joined by a collar we design and 3D-print in-house, with a 3D-printed riser inside that keeps corms up off the bottom; made to order, so every one is one of a kind. The clear sides let you watch roots and new growth come in. You’ll also find our Corm Condo, corm cups with custom risers, propagation pots with humidity domes, Prop Tops for mason jars, a 3D-printed soil scoop, pre-filled moss poles and akadama in the catalog.
